Sharps are being accepted at the Ocean Beach Hospital and the Ocean Beach Medical Clinic. For more information please call them at 360-642-3181.

Peninsula Pharmacies in Ilwaco, Long Beach, Ocean Park, and then Sagens Pharmacy in Raymond takes sharps during operating business hours. Sharps must be placed in sealed plastic or metal containers. The Long Beach pharmacies telephone number is 360-642-3200. Sagens can be reached at 360-942-2634.

Disposal of Fluorescent Lights

For information on the disposal of fluorescent lights please visit this website http://walights.org. It lists some basic information and links to informational sites.

Until this program is up and running you may dispose of fluorescent lights in your garbage containers after bagging them up. Please remember to bag up all material that goes into the can.

America Recycles Day is November 15

-When you recycle 10 cans per week, you save enough energy for 30 hours of TV watching per week.

-When you recycle 4 Sunday papers per month, you save 4 trees per year.

-When you recycle 15 plastic bottles per week, you save enough fiber to make 156 T-shirts per year.

-When you recycle 1 glass bottle, you save enough energy to light a 100-watt lightbulb for 4 hours, or power a computer for 30 minutes or a TV for 20 minutes.
